Local Rules Project

In fall 2006, the section formed an ad hoc local bankruptcy rules committee to comment on local bankruptcy rules in connection with the court's review of those rules, which began in December 2006 and is expected to conclude in summer 2007. The three members are David A. Foraker, David W. Hercher, and Thomas A. Huntsberger. The committee is open to the assistance of other members, so please let any committee member know if you would like to join the committee or otherwise participate in its work.

The court is released a proposed LBR Revision Draft which is now available for public comment through March 28, 2008. Please direct comments to LBRcomments@orb.uscourts.gov. Click here to view the draft.

Through February 12, 2007, the committee has submitted the following materials to the court through clerk Terence H. Dunn:

Although the court ultimately will give formal notice of its proposed adoption of rule amendments and an opportunity for formal public comment, the court will accept comments from the committee at any time, and the committee believes it would be best for suggestions to be tendered to the court as soon as possible.

Feel free to contact any committee member with questions or suggestions.
